The latest artist to join our project is Dave Kendall, who has incredible painting skills. Dave is a fantasy artist well known in the comic book industry. As such, he’s into things like spirits, giants, changelings and frequently creates images for the Magic: The Gathering and World of Warcraft card games. One thing I love about Dave’s work is how he works with texture. He has a great knack for creating the effect of translucent skin, for instance. He’s going to be painting an illustration for Fat Feet, the story Kay Inglis has written about her mother, who passed away from cancer in 2008. The image you see above is a crop from his work-in-progress which features giants from the ancient mythology of the Wiltshire area. He’s creating it using acrylic paints.
