Today we’re happy to welcome Sarah Beetson aboard the merry ship that is Memories. I first wrote about Sarah a couple of years ago when she had a show going around to various cities which included a Pepsi vending machine. You put your money in and out came one of her pictures, rolled up. Each one was original. More recently, I did an Inspiration Workshop article with her for Computer Arts, all about the politics of ‘thinspiration’ – you know, eating disorders and so forth. It’s powerful stuff and you can see it in issue 175 of CA which is on sale now. Aside from these artful ventures she’s also a big hitter on the illustration scene, particularly in fashion. Her clients include Clarks Shoes, Ellesse, The Telegraph and even The Wall Street Journal. One reason Sarah’s getting involved is that her aunt is receiving treatment for cancer right now – and we wish her well. Thanks for committing to the project, Sarah.
