The West Country is doing us proud, as another Bristol-based artist has joined the Memories project. On any given day Tom Lane – aka Ginger Monkey – will be in his studio working on an illustration for a book or magazine, or coming up with branding ideas for a company. It’s exciting to think that soon he’s going to start on an image to go with the text entitled A Different Path, the story of cancer survivor Wendy Nichols, for Memories. I met Tom Lane a couple of weeks ago at Tom Bagshaw’s exhibition in Bristol at the Knifesmith Gallery, and in the past we’d communicated by email. He has written now and again for Computer Arts, where I used to work. I love Ginger Monkey’s illustration work and you can see plenty more of it at his site, by clicking here.
