The very talented up-and-coming illustrator Dongyun Lee has agreed to create an image for the Memories book. This is great news, and Dongyun’s work was recently chosen to appear in the Communication Arts 2010 Illustration Annual, and was in 3×3′s annual last year. He’s also been doing work for GQ France, Wired UK and Time Out Hong Kong. His personal project, a book called Hurt, features a series of human characters with the heads of various animals, all depicting different emotional states and situations. I don’t know about you, but whenever there’s a human being with an animal’s head, or an animal dressed as a person, it catches my attention. It’s an artform of its own as far as I’m concerned. Last year, I got to meet him at the Images show by the AOI in London – he was visiting from New York. Anyway, we think Dongyun’s work is fantastic and we’re giving him a big thumbs up for joining the project. Please be sure to check out his portfolio here.
