Niel Quisaba – our man in Manila

Well, he’s not in Manila actually, but we are really pleased to have recruited the Philipino illustrator Niel Quisaba to the project. With a fascinating, playful style that includes freaky little characters, he does design work by day and creates his self-initiated illustrations in his spare time. His latest work is a design for a kite-board, but the image above is an example of his imaginative personal work. And I think imagination plays a big role with Niel. When I spoke to him for a Computer Arts article last year, he told me all about an image of a character he’d created based on his family’s pet cat. We send our thanks out to Niel who has already started working on his illustration, which will accompany Patrick Woodcock’s poem about his mother who sadly died from cancer. Check out Niel’s personal work here.
