The Canadian illustrator and Photoshop expert Derek Lea has confirmed that he’s joining our roster of fantastic artists who will be creating images for Memories, the art book that aims to raise money for the fight against cancer. Derek is going to tackle the story about Sarah Yates, who fought off leukemia three years ago. The project resonates with Derek, as he himself lost his father to cancer when he was a teenager.
Derek is known for his award-winning illustration work and his contributions to Computer Arts magazine. He’s also the author of the instructional guide on digital image making, Creative Photoshop. He teaches design at Centennial College in Toronto, and in his personal work, oil on canvas, eyeballs and tentacles have become recurring themes. It was great to see Derek during my visit to Toronto, last month. Please have a look at his portfolio here.
