I had a feeling that this would be an exciting week for Memories, and we’ve just had confirmation from Autumn Whitehurst she will be contributing an image for the book. Based in New York, we can safely say that Autumn has been one of the finest illustrators of the digital era. Her fantastically rendered style of work has appeared in all sorts of publications, and she’s developed enormous skill in portraying the human form, faces and beauty. One of the things that’s particularly amazing in her images is how she handles skin – making it beyond perfect, almost shimmery.
We’ve asked Autumn to work on an illustration a story called The Meteor, which is a really touching piece about a young girl in Germany called Ramona Horn who had a brain tumour. I can’t wait to see how she responds to this story. Take a look at Autumn’s work here, and you can also read an interview I did with her a while ago here. The image you see above is a great example from Autumn Whitehurst’s portfolio entitled Flora & Fauna. Thanks for being a part of Memories, Autumn!
