Welcome aboard, Andy Potts

andypotts

We’ve been working hard recruiting creative talent to contribute to Memories, and our latest is Andy Potts. Andy’s a super illustrator who has dominated the scene for the last decade or so. He worked alongside the likes of Richard May as part of the Black Convoy collective, famous for their collaborative illustration commissions, but has also developed his own colourful, digital montage style.

One of the things I really like about his work is that he uses really strong colour palettes. Sometimes they are surprising and add a twist to the theme of an image. At the same time he gives illustrations extra depth where he can through the use of subtle extra elements that are accomodated by his montage-style process. The image you see above was created for an editorial piece in The Independent newspaper about the futurist Ray Kurzweil. Andy will be working on our story about Wendy Nichols, who fought off cervical cancer.

Having Andy involved in Memories is fantastic and he’s going to be a real asset to the project. We thank him for agreeing to contribute. Please check out his online portfolio.
